A Letter from Our Co-Founder & OTR Driver Chris Faltin
Fellow Drivers,
As our valued partners in our free and open market place, I want to update you on our future plans and our focus on your success.
First, I want you to know that we care deeply about our relationship with you and the trust you have placed in us. We are continuously working to improve HaulHound based on user testing that we do with real drivers like you. When you see us at tradeshows, we are the only booth that has a section dedicated for driver testing of our current and future features.
HaulHound was started because – as a 3rd generation owner operator – I knew there had to be a better way to get backhaul loads and earn money. I didn’t need another thing to pay for and I was tired of having a cut of my money being taken out by someone else or some supposed “free tech” that turned out to be just a digital broker paying me a lot less than they were collecting for my work. So I created the first version of HaulHound for us to be able to freely post our capacity, specs, and minimum rate to HaulHound’s truck search engine in order for the shippers to compete for our capacity and to keep low-ball offers from blowing up our phones.
We launched this first version and it was a great success; but, we did not rest on our laurels. We continued to strive to improve your lives by helping with the front hauls and with times you were stranded. Therefore, we added a way to send you loads directly from the shipper through our instantaneous and free freight matching feature in version 2. Version 2 with the free load matching has been even more successful. We have seen great growth and now have a over 11K loads come in daily to match with you all.
What we are working on now:
- We WILL have a payment platform for you to receive money directly from the shippers. We are working on a payment platform so both sides of the market can instantly book loads and get paid instantly. No haggling or back and forth negotiations.
- We WILL have a place to easily store and send documents. We are building on top of our free document capture and send functionality to make it easier to send documents to anyone and to be able to store and send documents that need to be reused quickly.
Our mission is to make your lives easier. You all are the lifeblood of America and it is critical to us that you have the freedom to make the best business decisions easily and freely in an open marketplace.
